RIFLE Competitions:

The Rifle Team shoots air rifles at targets 10 meters away.  They shoot in three different positions: prone, standing, and kneeling. 

The scoring usually has 300 points as the highest possible score, although some competitions may allow for higher point values.

The majority of their competitions take place at SHS during a regularly scheduled practice time, but they also travel to some competitions.

Rifle Team members improve their focus, improve their dexterity, learn gun safety, and work individually towards team goals.

Rifle Team seniors are eligible to apply for a scholarship via the Civilian Markmanship Program, which tracks their shooting.

2015-2016 CMP Championship:

Congratulations to the SHS JROTC Varsity 1 Rifle Team for taking 2nd place in the Varsity Division.

Congratulations to the SHS JROTC Varsity 2 Rifle Team for taking 3rd place in the Varsity Division.

Congratulations to the SHS JROTC JV Rifle Team for taking 2nd place in the JV Division.

Special Congratulations to Faith Boyer, Kierstin Ryder, and Courtney Fields for making the top eight.

2015-2016 NARL Postal Competition Champions:

Congratulations to the SHS JROTC Varsity 1 Rifle Team for taking 1st place in the Varsity Division.

Congratulations to the SHS JROTC JV Rifle Team for taking 2nd place in the JV Division.

STANDINGS:

Fall 2015 - SHS JROTC Rifle Team has only lost one Postal Competition so far this year.  Congraulations to all the team members!
