Welcome to the SHS JROTC Boosters website

U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) is a congressionally mandated program that focuses on the youth-oriented mission “Motivating Young People to be Better Citizens”.

Booster Meetings:

JROTC Booster Club usually meets the second (2nd) Tuesday of every month at Sparkman High School in the cafeteria at 6:30pm. Some months will differ.  Everyone is welcome to join us.

Announcements...

 We have a few announcements/Reminders to get out so that y'all can get your February organized.  

Upcoming events:
 

2/17 thru 4/18 - Baseball season - The Sparkman JROTC supports the baseball concession and tickets thru the baseball season.  This is a huge fundraiser for the program.  All shifts will require 2 parents at the concessions and 2 parents at the ticket table and 1 parent at the grill.  Cadets will work the concessions.  An instructor will be present.  Volunteer sign up sheets will go out soon for these shifts.  Baseball volunteer work is very easy and not very hectic but we do need lots of help as there are multiple games on game days so we have multiple shifts to fill.  Weather delays, cancellations and reschedules are part of the norm.  We hope you will support your cadet and his or her JROTC by volunteering several times during the season.  

 

If you are reading this thank you for reading thru and congratulations you are now a well informed JROTC parent!  We love that and that is one of the many reasons that we do what we do!  If you would like to help us do what we do, we could sure use a helping hand on the board so please let us know and we'll be in touch to tell you the little or big ways you could help.  Whatever type of help works best for you.

SPECIAL TEAMS...
IF You have a cadet, competing on the Drill, Raiders or Rifle team, the JROTC Boosters are asking for a $50 donation to help offset the cost of food.  Every Competition we purchase between $150 to $300 of food for our cadets at each competition. This could be anything from water & gatorade to snacks, sandwiches, subs or pizza. Since we voted to make membership for the club free, we really count on those donations to help offset the cost and allow us to save the $40,000.00 we need to rebuild the Confidence Course.
 
This is a donation ONLY. But greatly appreciated.
You may send in cash or check in an envelope with your cadet to LTC Nathan or pay online on myschoolfees:

Obstacle Course Sponsorship...
Our Sponsorship letters have started going out for our request for help with the SHS Obstacle Course....Check back frequently to see how we are doing!  Click on the obstacle course tab to see a current list of companies that we have sent sponsordhip letters too and how much we have raised to date!  You can also download a letter to take with you to any of your business contacts that you think would be possibly interested in sponsoring us. 
 
VOLUNTEERS...
Thanks to all those that Volunteered this Fall!  We have a lot more opportunities comming up starting in February with Baseball Gate and Concessions....keep checking back on the volunteer page to see where you can lend a hand!

Thank you for all your support this Fall!  Our next fundraisers will be a Communtiy yard sale and a car wash in the spring. See dates on side calendar.
